ST. PETERSBURG, May 25. M. Stolypin.' in the Douma, outlined the agrarian policy of the Government. It was , proposed to purchase any estates offered, -which, with the Crown and State lands, would form a reserve from -which the peasants would acquire land through the State Bank at reduced rates, the difference being charged upon the taxpayer. The Government opposed the policy of compulsory purchase. .
(Eeceired 8.36 a.m.) 5 : ST. PETERSBDEG. May 26. The -peasant members of the Douma, the constitutional' democrats, and the members of the Department are diesatisfied with M. Stolypin's scheme, and it is feared ithe; situation will lead to a .dissolution. , Critics declare that M. Stolypm s refusal to admit compulsory purchase--will defeat his own plan, as the landlords \nll refuse-to sell except at a prohibrtiye price. . - ; .- ... ■-• -\ ' :
