DOLORES" CONCERT TO-NIGHT. This evening, at the Choral Hall. Anonia Dolores, the charming soprano, rill make her first appearance in New 'ealand since her return from Europe. Jdlle. Dolores will sing a beautiful aria »f Purcell's, "Thy Hand, Belinda/ and ecit. '-When I am Laid in Earth," -'Ah ii Tv Dormi Ancora" (Bassini), "Sic *ur Still-"(Frank), and "The Lass With he Delicate Air"' (Arne) complete the irst number. The famous "Shadow >°ng" from "Dinorah"' will probably >rove one of the greatest favourites of he evening, being an aria of a most briliant nature, enabling the singer to disilay the great powers of her voice. "Die -otosblume" and "Der Nusbaum" are wo of Schumann's most beautiful songs, ■articularly the latter, which has a ripiling accompaniment throughout, and rhen done full justice is a most entrancing number. -"Absence" (Berlioz) and The Balatella from "Pagliacci" of Leonavallo," euuie next in order, and will be ollowed by three favourite old English ongs—"My Mother 3id* Mc Bind" My lair" (Haydn). Anyone who has never heard )olores wiil doubtless be surprised at ne artiste singing so t.iany numbers on ne programme, but this is the usnal ustom adopted by her. Mr. Franz Veils will play Chopin's "Fantasie in .' Sharp Minor" and "Riiapsodie No. 12 ' Liszt). The programme will contain oreign words and complete English ranslations whore necessary, and Engish words to the English songs. The oors will be opened early.
