The King's Birthday will be sptnt by the City and Parnell Cricket Clubs on the Victoria Park ground, when matches will be played between junior and senior tnani3 of both clubs. The games will begin at one o'clock. During the afternoon tea will be provided by the City club. An all-day cricket match will he played at the Eden ground on Friday noxt, King's Birthday, between Jide.n and Grafton, when A. IC. Rolf, the All-Eng-land cricketer, will play his first game in Auckland. Afternoon lea will be provided, and the ground offers attractions to picnickers who enjoy a good game of cricket, the trees in the corner of the ground providing a suitable place for lunching parties. It is estimated that the people of England and Scotland spend £2.500 r 000 a pills and other "•stamped' physic. Every year more tban .'50..000 licences to make or sell patent medicines in the two countries are issued.
