Mull muslins in plain colours are likely to be much worn when the warm ■weather comes, and possibly with the result that charming girlish gowns will be produced, and look fresh and gay on the grass sward when garden parties are given. Every pale shade is likely to be worn. Children's hats are many of them washable, made with broad, flat crowns and frilled brims, prettily embroidered rosettes of ribbon at the side, and much quilled and puckered tinder the brim. Chiffon in two shades surrounds the crown of many straw hats. Favourite combinations are brown and tan, red and rose colour, sky and navy, and two tones of green. Useful woollen tailor-made gowns have Eton jackets, with doublebreasted collars and cuffs, made of braid <id moire; the bow sleeves show strapped seaius, so do the circular skirts, with boxpleated panels back und front. Rather a new idea for a ball gown for a very tall, slim girl is a somewhat full skirt of white tulle, covered with little plisse frills, graduated in size, almost to j the waist, and a bertha of the same; over the skirt goc>> one veiling of tulle, light and louso, through which the frills show most charmingly, caught up with j careful carelessness with a cluster of I white moss roses, buds, and loaves.
