SOUTHERN QUEEN RETURN. The mine mangaer of the Southern Queen Gold Mining Co. telegraphed yesterday afternoon:—"Banked 520z lfldwt of melted gold from 34 loads quartz. The value of this will be about £ 150. PROSPECTING IN THE KING COUinTRY. It is currently reported, says the King Country "Chronicle," that an Auckland Syndicate is treating for the lease of 1 o,('O0 acres, at a rental of sixpence per acre, of the Rangitoto A. block, owned by Te Kuiti Natives. Besides the use of the land the Syndicate is securing prospecting and mining rights over the property. The block is situated to the west of the Mangatutu river, and it is said that good camples of quartz have alreauy been obtained on it. COROMANDEL FREEHOLD PROPRIETARY. The Coromandel Freehold Proprietary Gold Mining Company's property now in liquidation will be sold-by auction on November 22 by Mr. R. C. Carr. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Sylvia.—The contractors have adanced the low level a dlstauce of _lft for the week, making the total S3ft since commencing their contract. Progress has been slower thid week owing to the portion of the tunnel where the water was met with having to be timbered. THAMES WARDEN'S COURT. By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, t_is day. In the Warden's Court M. J. Bain's application foi the Old Golden Hill, Tairua, was consented to. The following applications were granted: J. Bain, Golden Run, Tairua; M. J. Bain, water race at Tairua; A. Hanna, 6 months' protection for Shortland Flat; F. Stone, G months' protection for Uzailla, Tairua; ('has. Manuel, permission to work the Sylvia Extended with two men for six months', .1. M. Agnew, water race at Tairua. An application by J. M. Agnew for a special site at Tairua in connection with the Tairua Triumph special claim was objected to by T. T. Masefield and others, and was adjourned by consent to next Court day. The Vanguard G.M. Co. was given permission to work the Vanguard claim with six rn<iu for six months; Waimangu, six months' protection for Waimangu, Whangamata; 11. 11. Adams, six mouths' protection for Mo-nowai Deep, recommended; Golden Belt, six months' protection for the Golden Belt East special claim, Neavesville, recommended; Coronation Company, to work the Coronation and Extended for six months, granted; Old Alburnia G.M. Co., six months' protection for New Middle Star, Alburnia West, New Eileen, forwarded to the Minister; the same, to work the New Alburnia with six men for six months, granted; also, six months' protection for a machine site.
