CHINESE ON THE RAND.
LONDON, November 3. Reuter rpporis that mine-owners on the Band explain that there were 1376 fewer whites employed in the non-producing mines from April 1 to October compared with an increase of 10,". in the producing mines. "The Times"' says that the statistics for Septeraber show that despite the stoppage nf development work owing to labour questions hanging in the balance, 4000 more whites were directly employed on the Rand than at any time since Chinamen arrived in June, 1904.
