DENUNCIATION OF HEARST.
THE PRESIDENTS INTERVENTION. CAUSES GREAT SENSATION. NEW YORK, November 3. Mr. Roosevelt's unprecedented intervention in the New York State election campaign is likely to cause Mr. Hearst's defeat. Mr. Root's terrible arraignment of Hearst for sowing the seeds of class hatred and fermenting discontent, and inciting the men who murdered President McKinley, has caused a tremendous sensation. A.most all the New York journals enthusiastically applaud Mr. Roosevelt's impressive and startling note oi warning. [Mr. Roosevelt, through Mr. Root, described Mr. Hearst, the Democratic candidate for the Governorship of Netw York, as "'an insincere and self-seeking demagogue."]
