A peculiar assault case Mas heard tttts morning at the Police Court. A m&a named Coleman (known as "Sailor Joe") was charged with assaulting John Helta licensee of the Kob Roy Hotel. Sergeant McKinnon represented the police, and JUt Fitzherbert appeared for the accused. The court was crowded. Kellv 6aid ha ordered accused out of his hotel on Sat> urday. Accused was in the act of handing out explosives from his room. Ao cused struck witness on the jaw, knoefc. ing him unconscious. Kvidence was given in eorroborution. Accused was lined £5 and costs, in default one month.
