MT..AI/BBRT LAWN TENNIS CLUB. The la-wns of tie abovj? clnb, sitnated at "FerfidaJe," w«re duly opened for the season, in conjnndtlon with toe Bowling Clnb on Saittrday afternoon last. The weather being perfect, there was a large gathering of local and town visitors. Owing to the absence- of_:the president (Hon. Geo Fowlds), who wired his apology, and also best .wishes for the season, the president of the -Bowling Club (Mr. T. A. Ashton) declared, the lawns opened.for play, etc., and welcomed the visitors. The grounds were in excellent condition, due to the untiring efforts of the secretary (Mx. N. Ashton) and other members ,'of the committee, and many ..enjoyable games were indulged in. Itaring the afternoon the ever-welcome "tea" was dispensed under the guidance of Mrs. and Miss Garlick. Mrs. Ashton, and lady friends. There being a fnll list of membeiß in this cteb, everything points to a very successful season.

ONHETONGA CLUB.

Tine opening ceremony in connection with, the OneSmnga 1/a.wn Tennis Club took place on Saturday afternoon last, when there was a large attendance present. Tie weather -was perfect, and a number of Interesting games -were played, the four courts being fnlly oeenpred.
