THE ANGLICAN SYNOD.

FINAL DAY. The annual Synod of the Diocese of Auckland was concluded yesterday afternoon under the Presidency of Bishop Neligan. Archdeacon Calder moved: "That this Synod begs to tender its sincere symI pathy with the Rev. W. M. Dv Rieu in ] his illness, and trusts that he may be restored to health and to his place in this Synod."' Mr J. H. Upton seconded, and the motion was agreed to. Archdeacon Willis moved: 'That this Synod very warmly commends the noble work being done at St. Mary's Home to the sympathy and support of the people of the diocese. The mover spoke in eulogistic terms of the services and enthusiasm of the matron of the home. If more help did not come forward the work would have to be curtailed. He would look upon that as a great calamity, if not a great crime. Whatever else suffered that work should proceed and should be extended. The motion was seconded by Mr Batger, and unanimously carried. ORGAN FOR ST. MARY'S. On the motion of Mr C. J. Tunks, seconded by Mr V. E. Puce, it was decided "That the .Synod recognises the diocesan spirit displayed by the vicar and con gregation of St. Mary's, Parnell, in allowing such free use of their church and hall for diocesan purposes, ami commends to the generous support of all church people the effort "about to be made to procure before next session of Synod a suitable organ for .St. Mary's j Church." I Mr Wells moved, and it was agreed. "That in the opinion of this Synod the boundaries of the dioceses in the S'orl.'i I Island require certain alterations. jiiJ I that llip general Synod be requested to 1 take steps in accordance with Canon IV., i Title B. Clause 1., to make such amend.- . rnents in the said boundaries as it may j deem necessary." I A Sunday School Board wa~ elected. [consisting of Yen. Archdeacon ('aider. j Revs. McFarlane. Kempthorne. Stitto.i. j and Lush. Messrs 11. S. Brabant. W. W. J Hill. M. Peak. F. Cover, and Rolliiwun. The usual votes of thanks were passed, and the Synod closed with the benediction.
