POLICE COURT.
Before Mr. Dyer, &M. Maintenance. —Alfred Alyeon King, arrested at Masterton on a warrant for having disobeyed an order to maintain his wife, was alleged to owe over £ 100 arreaT3. It was stated that he had been living under a false name. TiSe case was adjourned till next Tuesday. The Tipplers. —David Leckie -(defended by Mr. Gregory), for drunkenness and having procured liquor though pro hibited, was fined £3 and 2/6 cab hire; three first offenders were fined 5/- each and cab fare; John Ihinn, for drunkenness and breach of a prohibition order, was sent to gaol for three months; John Neilson was fined 10/- and 2/6 cab fare foT drunkenness; John Burger was fined £1 with an option of 48 hours; William Paden, for having been found in a liquor booth at Otahuhu, was fined £2 and II - costs or a month; Ann Tilsley, for having procured liquor for a prohibited woman, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on, and to go to the Salvation Arniv Home for six months; Saraii Vallock, for having been found in the Biicldayers' Arms Hoted while prohibited, was sent to gaol for a month. Eogue and Vagabond. — Elizabeth. Austin, for being a rogue and vagabond, was sent to prison for three months. Unregistered Dogs—For having kept unregistered dogs E. VV. Morrison, a young man, was fined 10/- and 7/costs; John Dingle, 10/ and II- costs; Annie Keats, 10/- and 7/- costs. School Defaulters. —A number of parents were punished for having failed to send their children to school, the tinea ranging from 28/ and costs to 6/ and costs.
