C. Kennedy, £88 18/; making dam aud extending the MackaytowTj water supply pipes, about 60 chains, J. S. White and J. Law, £473 15/; forming and cillv-ert-ing 4J chains of street at Faeroa, E. Adolpii £36; forming and culverting portions of Farrelley's-road, Waikino, W. C. Kennedy, £17 17/; footbridge and footpath at Mackaytown, W. C. Kennedy, £21 9/; putting in about five chains pipe drain at Karangahake, J. S. White and J. Law, £15. The Council granted an application by the fire brigade for extension of water mala in front of domain. The matter of carting for the Ohinemuri County Council was discussed at length. It was decided to call for fresh tenders. It was resolved that tenders be called lor two new .bridges on the main road , -at Maiekaytown. Alley Bros, forwarded an application to erect a bone mill at Hikutaia. which they stated would be well away from the mail road. It was agreed to let. this matter stand over till the Health. Officer (Dr. Frengley) approves of the site. . It was agreed to repair Williams-street. The Council struck a rate of 5d in £ for the year. . . . Complaints about the nightsoil service were received. The Chairman and Cr. Crosby were appointed' to interview the contractor. The application of the Karangahake Fire Brigade for the extension "of the "Karangahake water main" to a point opposite the Wesleyan Church was referred to the engineer. Mr C. E. Mase wrote asking Council's permission to have a culvert put in front of the school at Mangaiti, which the engineer stated would cost about 15/- 'This was agreed to. Fisher Bros, were granted permission to put a tramline over the Puke-Nethertoa road, a little below the Puke Ferry. The offer of Bagnall Bros, to supply metal for the Netherton-Turua road at 5/tt per yard <was accepted. A grant of £10 was made to the Paeroa Public Library. The Railway Department decline to accede to the ,Council's request for automatic alarms to be placed at the railway tunnel at Karangahake. The Council voted £5 to be given for smal birds' eggs, provided the payment is legal. The report of the Finance Committee showed the overdraft to be £6628 15/; receipts last month, £1301 3/1, and accounts amounting to £1083 14/5 were passed for payment. ■ ..
