A RECORD NUMBER.
The Xo-Lkense League held a moonlight water excursion last night on board the s.s. Albatross. About 800 people attended. A capital programme was rendered by the Central Mission Band, and temperance addresses were given by the Rev. F. W. Isitt and Mr C H. Poole. Votes of thanks were accorded the speakers and the band. Tha excursionists returned to the wharf at ten o'clock.
Last evening the Rev. Jas. Wilson, oi the Methodist City Mission, gave an interesting and humorous recital to a large and appreciative audience, presided over by the Rev. W. Greenslade, in the Birkenhead Methodist Church, and: at the close was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Miss Martin, of Goroman.del, sang two solos.
