Messrs Mailter and Que.reaa.Q.£ New York, writing on January 2Gth, report that the Ty-ser steamer liHlia.gairi*has been delayed for repairs, and was net expected at that port before February sth. Shje will probably be despatched about March 1 for Melbourne. Sydney and New Zealand ports. The Bucknall lines advertised the a.s. Terj« Vikeu to sail for New Zealand poi ts direct, sailing February. iiSlh, but poobably uo.t to be despatched uutil Marc-h. The tounage despatched since the Xew Year has been very limited, ajjd the vessels chartered are few in number for the coming months. Freight rates Jiave n<rt been changed, but there ai« considerable iadications of an agreenip.nt being a l rvivcd at amons the various lines whereby rates can. be advanced to cover at Least charter cost.
The R.M.s. Sonoma arrived from San Francisco, via Honolulu .and Pago Fago. at 7.1."> p.m. yesterday, but owing to all the suitai>lo deep-water berths being occupied she did not come tip to the wharf uutil shortly before It o'clock. The steamer has made a good passage, making up for a considerable portion of the time lost in awaiting the arrival of the mails at 'Frisco. The Sonoma left San Fraucisco at ".oS a.m. on February 2, aiul discharged the pilot at 5.5 a.m. Fine weather prevailed to Honolulu, which was reached on the morning of the OtJi. the voyage being, resumed the same evening. Arrived at I'ajro Puro on the 15th. ami met with line weather thence to Auckland. The time occupied on the voyage was Itj days 15 hours 12 niinntes. the actual steaming time being 15 d.iys 20 hours 17 minutes. The Sonoma resumed her voyage for Sydney at S o'clock this morning, and will arrive at the New South Wales port ou Friday afternoou next.
