MOCKT EDEN CHOQDET CLOB.
The spacious lawns of the Mount Eden Croquet Club were the scene on Saturday of a most hearty welcome, extended by the members of the ctnb to the Grafton. Parnell, Remuera, and North Shore Croquet Clubs. Ten lawns- were requ____j_ed for tne play. Mr Hea_tlier is president n-w) Mr HaU secretary of the combined Tennis and Crosuet Cloh.. Aa efficient management committee for the day consisted of Mesdames Udy. "_enderdine, Moginie, Hudson, E. C. Beaie, H. Walker, and Miss Elliott. As a result of the play throe players in class A and class B respectively had both an equal number of games. Mrs Cariiw (Grafton) in class A drew a bye. The game between Mesdames Themes and Smith (Parnell) resulted in a victory for Mi's T~ho_ies. Mesdames Thornes and Cariaw drew for the prize aad the former won. The prize was a sUver-mounted scent bottle, Mrs Cariaw receiving a consolation prize. In class B Mrs (Dr.) Kins (Grafton) drew a bye from Mesdames (Dr ) McDowell (Grafton) and Harty (North Shore). Mrs McDowell won the game the hnal draw resulting in Mrs (Dr) Kins receiving the prize, a silver-mounted scent bottle, and Mrs (Dr.) MeDow_H a consola- £_*___£__: prlzes p"- 5 - 21 **- "y
