WAIHI ACCIDENTS.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. A serious accident occurred in the Waihi mine at noon to-day. A miner named James Maloney, working with Hand's party, contractors, whilst engaged breaking down quartz with a bar, slipped and fell, striking his right arm with great force against a piece of sharp quartz. A serious wound opened up, extending from the elbow to the w"rist, cutting clean to the bone. Maloney was conveyed to Mr Barron's pharmacy and Dr. Clandge attended to the injured man. The accident took place at No. G level on lode. With reference to Brooking's accident I learn this morning that he is progressing favourably. The accident was caused by Brooking attempting to cross over a pass on a plank, which slipped.
