Alexander M. Perry, bankrupt builder of Hamilton, has lodged a statement of his affairs with the Official Assignee. The total liabilities to nineteen unsecured creditors amount to £204 13/7, against -which the only assets are book debts estimated to realise £28. The principal creditors are: Parr Bros., Hamilton. £40 19/2; New Zealand lioan and Mercantile Co.. Ltd., Hamilton, '.€4O; Hadley Bros.. Hamilton, £28 *-/ ; J. T. Edwards, Ohaupc, £20 6/3. The meeting of creditors will be held at Hamilton on the 24th inst. A new infant school and outbuildings are about to be added to St. John's Methodist Church Sunday-school, Ponsonby. Ttenders for the work were received yesterday by Mr. A. Wiseman, ar-ehitect, as follows: W. B. Thorpe, £437; J. Manson, £449 10/; Baddock and Brcrwn, £464; C. H. Page, £4C7; D. Jack, £499; E. Wrigley, £578; J. Davis, £772. Trial fours -were held by the Waiteraata Boating Club during the week for trophies presented by Messrs. Bailey and Lowe (vice-presidents), and some very interesting races took place. Splendid form.was shown by those competing, especially the new members, a large number of whom took part. Six crews entered, the following being the results: Tn the first heat G. Huddlestone's crew beat T. Payne's by a length. Crews stroked by C. Tyer and W. Smith faced the starter in the second heat, and ifter a very exciting race W. Smith's four won by two feet. The third heat resulted in D. Bell's crew beating C. Short's by one and a half lengths." In the semi-final Huddlestone's crew beat 'W. Smith's by about one length, and follower , it up by winninnr the final from D. Bell's four by a ■rood lensrth. The ■winnfng crew wqygn r. A native woman named Mrs Tutere was charged at Onehunga Police Court yesterday with assaulting her daughter. Mary Tutere. The action complained of was admitted, but the defendant pleaded that she was entitled to punish her rvwn child, and was not unduly severe. The Justices, Messrs. E. G. Allsworth and J. Stonpe, convicted Mrs Tutere and ordered her to keep the peace for 12 months in her own surety of £25, and another for a similar amount. _ Last few days' of sale.
