SEDDON V. TAYLOR SLANDER ACTION.
(By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Commenting on the staj r of proceedings in the Seddpn-Taylor libel case, the "Times" feels sure thtit the public will be pleased at this termination of the case, especially as it carries with it the complete vindication of Captain Seddon and other members of the Seventh Contingent from the aspersions and insinuations levelled against them. The "Post" says that the only ground for regret is that the parties were not able to recognise the probability of a succession of trials without any definite result, except heavy expenses of law courts, and act accordingly before they had learnt it by the bitter experience of an abortive eight days trial. CKRISTCHURCH, this day. AH the Christchurch papers express satisfaction with the terms of the Sed-don-Taylor settlement.
