The inmates of the Children's Home, Remuera, were entertained yesterday through the kindness of Miss G. Pearson to a. picnic at Mount Roskill. The little children, under the care of Miss Carnie, the matron, arrived on the ground about 10 a.m., and a most enjoyable day was spent. The Ladies' Committee was also present, and partook of Miss Pearson's hospitality. Dinner, afternoon tea, and tea were provided on a most abundant scale. The children left the mountain for their home about 7.40 p.m., tired but happy. Mr Niecol thanked Miss Pearson for her great kindness, and mentioned that this was only one of the very many practical things this lady does to show her sympathy -with the good that is being done at this home.
