WAIKATO NOTES.
A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company notify by circular that their works will be open for stock on the 15 th March. Inquiries are being made as to the quantity of stock available. The directors meet at Hamilton on the 24th inst.
William McLaughlin, employed, by Messrs. Ellis and Burnand, of Otoro-hang-a. was admitted to the hospital at an early hour to-day. He was engaged breaking trucks, and waa jumping off to close a gate, when his foot slipped, acd he went under the trucks, which passed over his left leg, breaking it below the knee. He was brought through on a jigger. McLaughlin has been particular* ly unfortunate in the matter of accidents. Just 12 months ago he was in the hospital for some weeks with a fractured pelvis.
