THE OPERA HOUSE. The final performance of "Never Despair " by the Taylor-Carrington Dramatic Company was witnessed last night by another good house. The various powerful situations were followed keenly by the audience, and warmly applaudedA change will be given to-night, when the company ■will stage for the first time in Auckland the emotional drama, "Only a Vagabond."
"ONLY A VAGABOND." "Only a Vagabond" depends more upon' human interest and strength of plot for success than upon elaborate scenic effects or melodramatic action. Mr. Charlie Taylor is very versatile, and this piece will give him many excellent opportunities. Miss Carrington, in the dual part of mother and daughter, has lan emotional character of considerable lvalue, and the strength and talent of the company in support should enable "Only a Vagabond" to be presented with due regard to effectiveness. The bill is to be changed on Saturday night, when an entirely new Irish drama, entitled "Home/ , will be presented.
