THE SQUADRON SHIELD.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

CHRISTCHURCH, this day.

The shield to be presented to the Australasian Squadron is off'oak, heavily carved in relief. There is a wreath of oak leaves and acorns enclosing a silver shield, on which the origin and purpose of the trophy are set out. Outside the wreath runs a silver ribbon, on which the names of the winners will be engraved, and around the outer edge is carved a ship's hh.wser.
