j _ : Rumours were spread about the city from time to time during the day to the effect that two of the victims of the Symonds-street accident—the 'bus driver and Miss Pearl Foster—had succumbed I to their injuries. From inquiries mad« from Dr. Pureha= and the officials of rhe public hospital we are able v,o state that at the time of going to press there was no change for the worse in the condition of either. The injury to little Miss Foster's knee and the shock generally were no doubt very trying to her I system, but it is hoped that she will besafely pulled through. It is uot likely that the 'bus driver, Ganley, ■will be out of danger for two or three days. Alexander Perry, contractor, of Hamilton., has been adjudicated a bankrupt upon the petition- of two of his crediThe first meeting of creditors wiir be held it the Official Assignee's office, Auckland.
