J START OX MONDAY IX HIS j MAJESTY'S. i The eighth annual contest of the North Island Brass Band Association I commences on Monday morning at His j Majesty's Theatre, where all the tests j e::eept the marching will be heard by I the judge. Mr King, of Christehurch. The j Wang.inui Band arrived yesterday, and j the Wellington Garrison and Kaikorai, its rivals for the cbampictmhip. arrived to-day, along with the Ruahin? Battalion Band. The Wanganui Garrison Band, which is accounted one of the best in the colony. was to give a concert in the grounds of Government House this afternoon in aid of the Veterans' Homo.
