DRAMATIC SCENE IN COURT. ! i ACCUSED WOMAN CRIES TO HEAVEN. When Nurse Edith Fuller, who has been charged wth the murder of a newly-born child, walked into the Melbourne Court last Friday, she was wearing a spray of ivy leaves across her blonse. Tlie accused did not wait to lie charged. She raised her right arm. and. pointing to the ceding, shrilly cried out: -Gloria in Exeelsis Deo: et in terra pax! 1 am innocent. Glory be to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good will towards men. 1 am innocent. He is my Judge, a worthy Judge, the tribunal whom 1 have to meet. A higher tribunal than this, a higher tribunal than man's, and a higner Judge than man. shall judge mf." The charge having been read out. a remand was asked for. Accused: I must say I have been fearfully treated in Melbourne Gaol by everybody. I have not had a change of linen for eight days. Sergeant Rattray: Silence! Accused (excitedly): Silence: British justice! I will not be silent. Justice is all 1 ask for from my fellowmen and women. I am an Australia. Will yon kindly allow mc bail? Mr. Power. J.P.: We cannot. The accused: Well. Mrs. Dr. Fraser was allowed bail, .and why not 1 ? She had , money, though. There should not be one law for the rich and another for the poor. They allowed Mrs. Dr. Fraser out on bail, and why not mc? The accused was removed to the lock-
