ROBBERY UNDER ARMS, "x ATTEMPTED MURDER. WHITE PLEADS GUILT V. _____ \ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this; day. "Philip White, whose sensational exploits on Wednesday last caused such excitement in the city, appeared before Mr Bishop, S.M., to-day, upon charges that, being armed with a loaded revolver, he did rob George Thomas White of four gold watches valued at £49 10/, 30/ in money; that he did attempt to murder one John Guthrie; that he did break and enter the shop of Frederick Pannell, and steal watches and watch cases of the value of '£15; that he did break and enter the dwellinghouse of Dr. Manning by night and steal jewellery valued at £28 10/ and £10 in money; that he did break and enter the dwelling of Robt. Smithson and steal therefrom a silver watch valued at 30/. White pleaded guilty to all these charges, and was committed for trial. o —————^—________
