PREPARING FOR THE SECOND ADVENT.
BUSINESS MEN AUCTION THEIR STOCK AND OTHER BELONGINGS. During the past six weeks, says the Melbourne "Age," forces have been silently at work amongst the religious spct known as Christian Israelites in Australia to give effect to a long-looked-for event, and on Wednesday next the first contingent, numbering" about 80' souls, will leave by the (ierman boat Rhein en route for Benton Harbour, Michigan. United States, to make preparation for the second coming of Christ. About the middle of December two visitors from America, known as "Mary and Benjamin,'' came here to '-gather the long-lost sheep of the house of Israel, who were scattered among all nations," and announce to all who eared to hear that the seventh trumpet, or last call, mentioned in Revelations x. 7. is being sounded, and the fulfilment of all the Scriptures is at hand. Those who are gathering together are to live in common as one family, a perfect brotherhood, sharing alike and equally provided for, as were the children of Israel in their journey through the wilderness under the leadership of Moses. As proofs of sincerity two examples may be mentioned. Mr W. Bulley, who had an extensive business in Brunswickstreet, Fitzroy. had an auction sale of his stock as well as his furniture, and his family, including grandchildren, will "follow the spirit whithersoever it leadeth;" another business man in a large way in the same street has sold out also, and unreservedly handed over his means to the common fund.
Those who are taking part in the movement claim that a special revelation has been vouchsafed to them, and mysteries, such as the secret of the life of the body which was sealed from the tirtie of Adam's fall, unsealed. Through one man's sin death entered the world, and so death passed upon all men, but th- elect are to be redeemed body, soul, and spirit, and reign and live with Christ a thousand years on earth. Those who have died up till now in the faith may have saved their souls, but their bodies, like Adam\. passed into lhe dust. Christ's body did not see corruption, nor ciid Enoch's or Elijah/s.
A community has already been established in Michigan, but it is intended eventually to return to Jerusalem. A time of tribulation is corning upon the earth. The nations are beginning to engage in war which shall not cease till all nations fall. Russia's present turmoil is accepted as a sign. The nobles and great will fall and kings* crowns clink on the ground. The earth shall be purified and return to its Eden state, and there shall be no more sorrow nor crying; neither shall there be any more, death.
