The "Sydney Daily Telegraph," of January-27, says:—The German policy of excluding British commerce from portions of the Sonth Pacific, over which Germany has control, is apparently being- carried on with increasing vigour. Information has reached Australia yrithin the last week of certain high-handed action on the part of the German authorities in the islands, which have been the sceure of previous troubles. Representatives of the German Government and the Jaluit Company are at present in Sydney, and it is considered possible that they are here to furnish to the German" Government the information whwth the Kaiser's Ministers undertook in response to representations from the British Minister, to 6btain from the igfcmds in connection with the treatment of the steamer of Burns, Phflp, and Co. It is probable that the Commonwealth Government •will seize this/opportunity of impressing upon the Homo authorities the necessity for obtaining prompt information upon the snbjeet. The Wsrifcaio Agricultural and Pastoral Association has decided to offer a piece of plate to the exhibitor securing most points in the cattle classes at the Ohinentujci show; also to lay the remainder CkualeJands in grass, and take immediate steps to have tfce society incorporated.
