A NICE LITTLE BILL.
Two actors were about to Kit down to supper at a well known restaurant when they were joined by a eonrteous stranger, who begged them to be his guests. Ttofe* at first demurred; but on the stranger's pressing the matter, and declaring that it had long been his dearest wish to meet in private two gentlemen who bad so often amused him in public, their vanity overcame 'them, and they accepted the invitation. A delightful meal followed. TbeJr new friend insisted on their ordering the best of everything, both food and wine, and, to set them a good example, he himself ate liberally, and drank deeply of all that came In hie way. "Jove!" he exclaimed presently, after applying a match, to his cigar. "I forgot Dick Hargrcaves! You don't know Dick? I'll bring ihiin in; he's only a few yards away. Fancy my forgetting him!" and oil he ran. Fire minutes later the waiter approached the actors. "The bill, gentlemen," he said, placing a lengthy document on the tabic. "Oh," answered one of them, "yon must give that to oar friend." "Very sorry, gentlemen, bet yew friend told mc to give it to you."
