(Received 10.2 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. The sugar yield for last year was 150,----000 tons, or 60,000 in excess of the previous year. MR. COGHLAN TAKES AGENCYGENERAL. SYDNEY, February 2. Mr. Coghlan, the Government's statistician, goes to England to reorganise the Agent-General's Department. He will act as general representative of the State in London, and will receive £600, in addition to his present salary. When the reorganisation has been effected he will act both as Agent-General and commercial agent, at a salary of f 1500. The salary of the two ofiices is now £2320. Mr. Coghlan's appointment is temporary, pending the appointment of a Federal High Commissioner.
ANOTHER DEATH FROM PLAGUE
BRISBANE, .February 2. A fatal case of plague has occurred in the city. Two suspicious cases are under observation.
