LIVE STOCK AND PRODUCE,
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report that- at the Haymarki't there was a full rard of horses. We quote: Aged draughts, i:i2 10/ to £20 5/: iiiodlum ditto. £14 to £25 7/ti; buggy horses ami good hacks. £1S to £24; light harness and ordinary hacks, £5 10/ to £15 weeds, from 7/0 upwards; Shetland pony and harness reaJisud £12; gig, porry, and harness. £ir> 10/: spring cart, £l.*i. Straw: in short supply. 3;!/ to 41/ a loud. LI ides, skiufi. tallow, etc: Hides, ox 4*d to Hid: cow, SJd to 'Hd; lap, 4ii to 4-", d; 'calf, ~>d to 5?. d: horse, 0/ to H/: trtugs - , ad; hon«.>hair, 1/1; tallow. 10/8 to 21/: fat, lid; bom*, 5/. Skins, 2/ to 8/: pelts, salted. ••/ to 2/6' dry and damaged, 4d to 1/10; lambskins, 1/2 to 2/«. Wool in bags and dumps, 7d to Sad: locks and pieces, 3d to 5Jd; lamb. 7Jd: dead, 7d. Dairy cows and store ci-ttle were well represented at fte-i-iuera on Thursday, and met wiUi steady ciimpotition throuprliout. Cows at profit •were from S5 to £10; dry, £- 10/ to £3 10/; store steers, unchanged fat and young calves in Tv.ll supply, sold fqeely, small selling to 10/, medium to 18/. heavy to £2 10/ u-r, sold). Kat cattle penned in average numbers were firm at late quotations. Steers ranged in price from £7 to £i) 17/0;
cows, £4 to £b (2:50 yarded). The sheep pens were well filled with a good class of mutton, which sold at recent values. Best wethers were from 18/ to 21/; lighter weights, to 17/; heavy ewes, to 19/8: others, to ir«/. L»amb9 were easier in value, best selling to 15/, others 10/G to 13/. Pigs penned in usual numbers, were required, small selling from 5/ to 10/; porkers, to 3U/; ba-t-oners, to 41/.
