FIRE INSURANCE RATES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHHRCH, Thursday. Local insurance representatives are reticent concerning the reduction in rates for fire risks, but it is generally understood that an all-round reduction of a third has been arranged. One local manager interviewed, expressed the opinion that the results would be a decrease in managers' salaries, and carelessness on the part of insurers, who would be able to afford larger policies, and would become less anxious when they knew their properties were fully covered.
