ATMOSPHERIC PHENOMENA IN AUCKLAND.
Mr Cheeseman, Government meteorological observer, informs us that from Wednesday night until yesterday morning at 4 J-n>. there was a steady fall of the "avometer here, indicating a decrease ol atinospheiic pressure on the eurth's surface. }' a similar fall took place at Kotor.ua at we time of the eruption, and we have no a°abt that Dr. Ginders, the Government J^ical oifieer there will bo able to supply ™ 8 data, it will scorn na though the pressure of tho atmospheres Precipitated the eruption. *** GIARB VISIBLE IN AUCKLAND.
About two o'clock this morning a strong F re waß observable in the Southern Ravens, proceeding doubtless from the v°loano of Mount Tarawera.
