TO-NIGHT'S MEETING AT NEWMARKET.
The electors of Eden, at the meeting tonight in the Presbyterian school-room, are to have an opportunity of expressing their views on the impoitrnt measures now before Parliament. The enthusiasm exhibited at Parnell last night shows that Sir George Grey is not mistaken in his belief that the peeple of Auckland are with him in his determined efforts to get justice for the province. We believe that the good people of Eden are just as keenly alive aB the electors of Parnell to the inexpediency ot rushing on changes that are pregnant with mighty results in the future. Due reflection and caution are demanded, and we think will be insisted on by a sufficiently large portion of the Assembly to cause the Abolition Measures to be carried over till the next general election. We trust that the meeting to-night will affirm the resolution so overwhelmingly carried last evening.
