This day,
Crushings. The Dauntless No. 1 tribute got 40ozs. 12 dwts melted gold from 28 tons stone. The Coliban crushed 30 tons, and retort to-night for from G5 to 70ozg. The Eed White and Blue are retorting. They crushed 120 tons, and will have over 200ozs. gold. There are very favorable reports to-day from the Tairna Prospectors. They have cub into the reef from No. 2 shaft, with splendid prospects. The contract for cutting timber for the Waitekauri 40-stamper battery has been let to-day, the contractors to start immediately. The Only Chance, from 201bs specimens got Bozs. 18 dwts gold. The Queen of May retorting is now goisg on. They expect 220 ozs. The Manukau is also retorting. They will have 350 to 400 ozs.
