[(Before F. D. Fenton, Esq., K.M.) JUDGMENTS FOR PLAINTIFFS. John F. Saunders v. James Saunders; claim £12 10s 6d., clothing, costa £1 4s. Jagear and Parker v. E. Halstead ; claim £10 6s 9d., money lent and interert thereon. (Mr Devore for plaintiff) Costs £2 ss. W. J. Messenger v. John Henderson ; £3 10s Bd., nine legs pork and sausages. JOHN ROBERTSON V. G. MACBAE. Claim, £20, damages. Mr Brookfield for plaintiff. . ■ This case, in which plaintiff claimed, for damage done to a.wall through watercoming in from defendant's premises, was submitted to arbitration, and Mr James Baber, architect, was appointed arbitrator. Mr Baber's award was put in and read to the effect that defendant was to pay to plaintiff the sum of 30s for the damage done to the wall, with costs, charges, &c, amounting to £19 16s. H. T. LOGAN V. THOMAS MACK AND ANOTHER. Claim £36 6s. Mr Devore for defendant. The evidence in this case was taken for the defence, plaintiff residing in Wellington. Thomas Mack deposed that in 1869 he was mate with Wylie, the other defendant, they took small contracts together. He knewnothing of the goods for which plaintiff claimed; he did not use any of the goods, if they were had at all, Wylie mast have got them; he was not responsible. JOHN SAVORY V. E. BROWNE. Claim, 13s. Mr Thofne for plaintiff. jMr Browne denied his indebtedness, he was not aware that he owed anything to the plaintiffs ■ a; f Mr Thome stated that Mr Browne had occupied a house under plaintiff, in ".Rokoby-
street, and bad left without giving a week's notice, and the claim was 4s for cleaning, 2s for smashing the lock, and 7s for the week's rent in lieu of notice.
. Mr and Mra Savoy were examined, and Mr Browne, who testified that he had paid the rent and that the articles claimed for were in bad condition when he took the house, which he said he left in better condition than when he took it.'
His Worship said that he must pass over the lock and cleaning part of the claim, and give judgment for plaintiff for one week's rent. Costs, £1 9s 6d.
Several claims were settled out of Court ; and others adjourned. •
