(From our own Correspondent. This day. Ohinemuri .Agricultural Leases-' On Tuesday at noon the Warden opened the applications at Obinaruuri for agricultural leases, and out of 2000 acres applied for, one 1000 acres were granted to various applicants for fifty-acre blocks. The lands applied for are situated at Rotorua, Mackaytc^ir, and Waitekauri. Tairua. There is nothing fresh from Tairua. The report that the Brothers had struck gold in the low level is incorrect. A policeman has taken up his quarters on the new goldrield, although he is not believed to be wanted. The Whatt and Alburuia Crushings. The Whau retoittd for a payable yield of 95ozs 18 dwts., after an irregular crushing of about 100 tons.
The Alburnia gold, melted, weighed 196 ozs.
The Black Angel tribute crushed 20 tons for 19ozs. 3 dwts.
The Golden Age tribute and Beehive, ten tons yielded ISozs, 18 dwta, The Manakau.
The Mannkau will not clean up till Monday, and will have a moderate yield from an irregular crushing. About 1 ewt. of picked stuff is on hand.
