NEW PLYMOUTH.
(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Saturday. B'dy from Cutter Hero.
One of the bodies of the crew of the cutter Hero was washed ashore at the Mokau. It i 3 not identified yet. The Maoris buried it high up on the beach. A survey of the Hero has been held, so as to base a claim for salvage, and the report is that salvage is claimed as follows :—Value of the direlict, £230 ; of timber, &c, £149. . Captain Simms, the late captain of the Julius Vogel, is to be appointed harbourmaster at Rangitikei. All the railway bridges are expected to be finished by tbe end of August, and the time opened for passenger traffic by the end of September.
