BRISBANE.

It has been decided to build a new Anglican church at Fortitude Valley, to cost £3500.

At a meeting to arrange for a public demonstration in commemoration of the O'Conaell centenary, an amendment was carried, —"That it is inexpedient in this dependency, the nation cherishing; the memory of many of its illustrious sons, to single out for honour by a public celebration one whose fame principally rests on services rendered in particular to the Church in Ireland."
