Tairua Eeef Cut
The Taiiua Company haa cut through the big reef where exposed on the surface eighteen feet— no wall yet. There is splendid gold all through. Ali the Police Court late yesterday afternoon Amelia Thornally was committeed for trial on a, charge of forging the name of a man named Bage to a deed of conveyance. She was admitted to bail.
The Hazelbank tribute crushing yielded 2]oz. I7dwt., the product of 25 tons stone. The Long Drive clear up to-morrow from genera] stuff and specimens. The Cure, in shooting down No. 4 reef today, had about six tons with rich gold showing through it, but as it has nob yet been picked over, the quantity of specimens have not been ascertained. There is a good show left in the face.
The Long Drive are crushing specimens. It is maluDg a fine rich show. They will have about VCOozs. for the month.
The Blight Smile had a slight mishap to the winding engine this morning causing a suspension of operations for one shift The shaft of the winding engine broke. Repairs will be completed to-night. The Pumping Association attached another joint to the pump to-day. The contractors are making good progress through an excellent class of country.
