(From our own Correspondent.) This day.
Ban Francisco Mails. Ihe San Francisco mail brought 6236 lettere, 600 book packets, and 13,620 papers. Over £200 have been collected for Mr Hyarn's family, who suffered by the Castlestreet fire. The enquiry into Pieman's fire at Kaikora, will be held to-morrow.
Fire. The premises of Mr Eussell, furniture dealer, George-street, were destroyed by lire on Thursday night. The stock was valued at £700. It was insured in the National Company for £250. Messrs. Macandrew and Reid Messrs Macandrew and Reid left for Wellington yesterday.
