(Prom our own Correspondent.) -_ This day. Murder of a Maori "Woman at . Rangariri. lne natives yesterday reported to the police here that a Maori woman had been murdered by her husband named Rapoutu about three miles from Rangariri. Her body ia said to be horribly mutilated, £!_ nearly out in two by a tomahawk. The body was burned by Maoris. f The murderer escaped to the back country punned by the natives and the mounted police started this morning to investigate the matter. 5. c J£ lT. er,"~Raising the Rangariri. Xhe Waikato River is (higher than it has been this season, and is rising. Energetic Bteps are being taken to raise she Rangariri.
