Election of Mr O'Sorke

3 30 p.m. In the Houso of Representatives this afternoon Sir Donald McLean proposed in warm terms the election of Mr O iorke. He spoke of his general ability and faithfulness. JJ^This was seconded by Sir George Grey, who endorsed the warm terms used by Sir Donald McLean.

The motion was succeeded by loud ap plause, and was put and carried gunani mously.

Mr. O'Rorke arose to thank the House, and re fjired to his predecessor in eulogistic terms.

He said the proposal came without any seek jng for it on his part.
