With reference to the charge against Judge Dunne, the Government having satisfied themselves that he was suffering from the effect of chlorodyne and not drink, as alleged by the local papers.—New clauses are being prepared with a view to put a stop to all betting transactions on the turf, but it is scarcely likely to become law. — Catholics continue their strong opposition to the Education Act.—The ship Crown Prince, 170 days out from London has arrived, having been delayed by baffling winds and a foul bottom.—W. Splendid news has been received from the reefs at Cooktown. Adelaide, July 14 Johnston, telegraph station-master at Daly Waters,,was speared by the natives at Roper and died. Two other men with him who v were searching for strayed cattle were also wounded, but are rocovering. *
