The brig Syren has entered out for Taranaki. The cutter Magic has cleared for the Thames with a miscellaneous cargo. The cutter Wanderer, for the Great Barrier, and the South Carolina, for Russell, have cleared out in ballast. The schooner Gem has entered in from Russell with 46 tons of coal. The ketch Maid of the Mill from Orewa trings 28,000 feet timber, and 3 tons gum. The ketch Fanny Kelly from Wangaroa brings 30,000 feet timber and 2 large spars. The cutter Leo brings 53 tons coals from Russell. The cutter Fawn, from Russell, brings 21 tons of coal, 162 bags of gum, and 1 hide. The barque Bella Mary hauled away from the wharf this morning, and will sail for Hobart Town at once. She is in ballast. Tne barques Lebroyd and Queen oi the South, the schooners Fairlio and Mary King, and the brigantines Zephyr and Kate Brain, are all discharging at the Queenstreet wharf. Their cargoes are tm-ning out better than could be expected, considering the fearful weather they have experienced. The s.s. Made the Poor Knights on the 17th insfc. The copra from the Dauntless will he transhipped into ths Ferngien. Passengers : From Tonga—Mr Dwyer. From Eevuka— Captain Sprawle, Messrs Gwynne, Evans, and Bartlett. Captain Farquhar, of the lona informs us to-day that the mysterious barqne which put into Wangape did not fire a rocket, but a gun. She stood in by the channel on the north side of. the rock, which is the usual mode t.f entrance. From this it was supposed that thecaptain knew the port welt. When she stood out on the south side it became evident that she was a stranger,-, as the water, here bristles with rocks, and • It was a wonder to'those who saw her that she got to sea safely. It is not at all improbable that the vessel will tun Tout to be the Moneynick. '
The.barque Martha, Captain McKenzie, arrived this morning irom Samoa and.the Friendly Islands with a cargo of island produce. We are indebted to Capain McKenzie for the following report of passage and for Samoan hews :—Left': Samoa oh May 30, with light easterly winds urtil we reached Vavau on June 6; left there again en the lOth.after taking in part of cargo called at Baapai and took in some more cargo ; sailed for Tongatabu, and reached there on 22nd'Jnne; took in balance of cargo, and failed from thence for Auckland on the 27th. Experienced calms and variables till July 8, when it oame.on stormy weather from the south, lasting until neariag the coast, when tho wind chopped to the N.W, and-continmd to blow from that quarter till'entering port.
