The annual meeting of tbe Country Board electors took place on Saturday evening. The proceedings were of an exciting nature The meeting was packed by small holders, and thirteen names proposed as trustees. Messrs. Saml. Clarke, J. A. Chadwick, David Bill, London, and Stephen Zarle were elected. Messrs. Clarke and Lundon declined acting, and the other candidates, as it came to their turn also declined acting with Messrs. Chadwick and Bill. The matter has created great excitement, and the present trustees hold office until successors are appointed by the Superintendent. Mr Edgecumbe, Chairman of the Board, has submitted five names to his Honor.
