The, petition in favour of the Native Minster being made a life appointment was rereived badly by the Arawas, who, while they believe in Sir Donald McLean, would not like a precedent established that might j»l in their being saddled with a Daniel. He petition as received by them has been cmsidered in committee, but, pending reWes from other kaingas, no decision has Den come to as yet, Te MuraTeAma_.au is still alive.
