CAPTAIN CASEY'S NEW STEAMER.
The new screw steamer Messrs Finis and Brown Bft'-o built for Casey, at the North Shore, will be launched by the time th's reaches the eyel! of our reader*, the Mine of launching being fixed at four o'clock, this afternoon. The vessel has the following dimensions :—Length of keel. 100 ft; breadth of beam, 36ft Sin; deoth cf hold. 7ft tin; register ftbeut 60 tons'. *he has two cabins fore and aft. In the fore cabin, which mmw s iß't lov>g, there is accommodation for about 20 passengers, th?ra beiDg 14 slee iog berths besides the side leckers, which can be used as such. The after cabin (for ladies only) is about 14ft 1 ng. snd is provided v.ith sleeDine accommodation for eight person?. The woolwork in both cabins is completed, and the decorations and painting will re proceeded with »t rnce. The quarters for the captain and engineer will bs on deck, under and aft of tie bridge, wMch will ba six feet wine, right amidships. Therfi will be two holds—one fore'ard, and the otiier aft r.f tbe engine-room, which will thus be well away from the cabins. The bo;.t is exrected to be rsady for running in about three weeks tirre. Immediately after her launch, tiioNel ie Casey wiilbe towed over to Mechanics' Bay, where she vi'l bAtted with her machinery. She will supply the place of the Lady Bowen till that vesstl has b< en lpn?th°ned and repaired, when she will proceed to the Kaipara to relieve the Lily.

The schooner being built hy Messrs ?ims & Brown, at thdr yaid in Cust-irchou'e-strett, will he ready for lauuchirg on Thursday next. She is intended for Messrs Forcl an>l Hol'and, and is de&tined fur the Bay of Islands trade; Her dimensions are—s2 feat length rf heel, 16 f»et 6 inches beam, and 6 feet 6 inches in depth of hold.
