GRAHAMSTOWN. (From our own Correspondent.) n his day. Risli Yield from Tainia. The, trial crushing of 5 cwt. !rom No. 2 reef Taitua claim has yielded 23^ ounces of amalgam, equal to an average 3S ouuoss gold to the ton. This has surprised everyone. Sales : City of London, 53s ; Queen of May, 10s. . Litigation re Tairua. The case Kelly against !Neves and others, for trespass ia the Welcome claim (the same for which a license was granted to Neves aud others) is proceeding—Mr Eees for the plaintiff, and Messrs Tyler, Hetketb, Brassey, and Macdonald for the defence. The Warden has ruled that, the license being granted, the title of Mr JS!"eves is indefeasible, but consented to take evidence to hear arguments to allow the matter to be tested in another Court. The case is now proceeding. There is another plaint by Baird, alleging that the license was obtained by fraud. From the evidence taken, it appears Kelly and Baird are partners. The sold an interest in their venture for £100 to a man named Danaher, of Auckland, to provide funds for carrying on the lawsuit. 3.30 p.m. The case against the Prospectors is concluded. The jumpers were nonsuited.
