CHRISTCHURCH.

(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Tuesday. The last section of the Christchurch and Southbridge branch of the railway, fourteen nailes in length, was formally opened at noon. A banpuet was held. There are now about 180 miles of line open in the province. The Minister of Education, in reply to a deputation yesterday, said the Government had no intention at present of reducing teachers' salaries. Revival services are now being held in varions districts.
